Was wondering if anyone could tell me how long a Server Standard core license lasts? I believe it typically needs to be renewed annually, but the donations are only purchasable every 2 years, so do those licenses last 2 years or do I need to replace those? Then for the discounted licenses are those annual or 2 years?
I.E. if I have 128 core licenses to purchase to by purchase them annually or every 2 years, or is it that I need to buy 25 every 2 years and the rest annually?
they are lasting forever. the 2 years is upgrade right. meaning you can upgrade to latest version for free with in that time frame. you will also get support during that time (along with other benefit like VDA).
You are not require to renew (go without email support). FYI: renew is a pain, as you have to contact MS auth reseller for quote. the price will be super expensive. it is cheaper to just buy another one from techsoup.
I go about 5 years before request another MS licenses.

Thanks for the advice! It looks like I have plenty of licensing at the moment so I don't need to renew the older licenses at this point, I will say I did some price comparison, and when I went through a rep, it was significantly cheaper than through Tech soup for renewal rather than new licensing. That is to say anything past the donated licensing was significantly cheaper. Of course if you don't need/want SA or support then it's cheaper to go with out renewal.
