We used to have MapPoint - what is a good mapping software for a small non-profit?
Hi. This subject has come up on TechSoup many times. If you search for mapping and click the Forums tab you'll find those discussions. I don't see any GIS products in TechSoup's product catalog, but a search for free GIS software led me to articles like this and this.
Please let us know what you decide to do and why.

I work for a company called eSpatial. We have been helping organizations to make the move from MapPoint since it was discontinued in 2015.
We work with a number of non-profit organizations and offer full support. I don't want to turn this into a sales pitch so I'll just leave you this link and you can do your own research.
If you do want any help, our mapping experts are available via chat to help :)
Hope you find a suitable replacement.
If you need a powerful GIS tool look at Quantum GIS (https://www.qgis.org/en/site/about/index.html). It is open source, cross platform and has a large user base. The program appears quite complex at first, GIS is a complicated subject but the documentation is excellent and a web search will produce plenty of tutorials.
