I reached out via email, but for visibility purposes I'll let everyone know that we are still working actively with Intuit for a solution. There is an extra level of complication for the TechSoup obtained Online subscriptions, because it is a donated product from Intuit, meaning that the back-end billing code is a bit different than a "normal" QBO account obtained through commercial means. I will let everyone know once there is a solution in place, but I want to make it really clear that no data usage limits will be imposed on organizations that obtained QBO Plus through TechSoup until there is a solution for upgrades. No one will be in a situation where there is not a secure way to handle your organization's finances.

Baily Maples from TechSoup put me in touch with a Senior Customer Care Specialist in Intuit's "SBG Care Escalations" group; together we determined that the "corrupted company file" report they gave me was bogus, perpetrated by scammer group that apparently follows QBO public forum postings for potential marks. Bad news was I fell for it, as I thought it not surprising that Intuit would pull a stunt like this. Good news is the bank is refunding my organization's money.
WHEN YOU POST on a QBO public forum, beware that scammers are watching. Don't disclose any info about yourself or your organization other than what's already visible. Any doubt, click the HELP button in the upper right of the QBO screen.

I received an email announcement of a message posted by Bob_MNO about the resolution on his supposed data corruption. Not sure why that message is gone, but glad to hear the issue is resolved.
The org that I represent is waiting anxiously for a migration path from commercial Plus to donated Advanced. We're paying each month what donated Plus would cost for a year. My understanding is that there is no option (yet) other than the onerous export to desktop and then import back to online. Is this scenario one that will be covered when back-end migrations become possible?
UPDATE: It wasn't Intuit. I was scammed.
(Repost for pbumc and others) The so-called company file corruption notice I received was not from Intuit. It was in fact a scammer falsely representing themselves as Intuit, who had apparently seen a recent post by me in a QBO "ask the community" help system. Baily at TechSoup was a great help by putting me in touch with the Intuit issue escalation team, and my organization's bank is handling the bogus charge.
So be forewarned: If you receive an unsolicited contact calling themselves "QBProAdvisors.com" or anything similar, be wary. Contact an Intuit agent through the QBO help system to report.

I logged into our QBO Plus account last week and noticed they had placed restrictions on our account. (Only allow 40 classes, etc., since we had not upgraded to QB Advanced yet.) My understanding was that QB would not limit our accounts until a solution for how to upgrade to QBO Advanced through TechSoup was figured out. When I called QB they said the only solution was to purchase a new QB Advanced through TechSoup, but transactions will not transfer and will be deleted after one year. Is there a solution yet for how to seamlessly upgrade from QB Plus to QB Advanced within TechSoup?

We just received notice that our commercial QuickBooks Online Plus subscription will go up 40% next month from $50 to $70/month.
We've been hanging on to the commercial edition waiting for the back-end migration path to TechSoup QBO Advanced. I hate seeing this much money wasted, especially now that it will exceed budget! Any chance we could migrate this month?

We are still working on a path, but the updated timeline does not have this being finished this month. I have been talking with some other organizations and they used Chronobooks to successfully migrate their data over. With those I've talked to, the only data that has been "lost" in the process is some reconciliation reports. This seems to be a viable option for a lot of organizations that aren't able to wait, and I believe Chronobooks offers a free trial of this service.

We've just completed the Plus to Advanced migration using Chronobooks. It's a very helpful program but, due to limitations that Intuit imposes on what data can be accessed programmatically, there are a few "gotchas." I've written a short article that might help others who follow this process:
