The Box donation through TechSoup is a perpetual license - it never expires!

Does Box require users to download anything in order to participate? My nonprofit board uses work computers and are not allowed to download anything, even browser plug-ins.
how do i get box through tech soup
Yvonne - Box is a one-time admin fee of $84.
@childsteps- Hi! Just go to www.techsoup.org/box and get signed up. You'll have access at Box.org

Hi Childsteps - See link here for details on the Box donation at TechSoup.
You don't have to download anything to use Box (although we do have a number of desktop applications that can enhance your experience with us). All you need to get started is a web browser to visit us at Box.com!
This is very important since I pay $99.00 a year for an encryption program. I understand it is a
built in feature for Box. Maybe I will just contact them, this chat is a little difficult to pace.
Can you explain why we should consider using Box instead of Google Docs or Dropbox?
Is there a limit to the size/amt of pictures that can be stored on Box.com? Can full resolution pics be stored there and can they be linked to our website?
@euromousevet- Many orgs feel that our donation program sets us apart from some of the providers in our space. Further, our focus is almost entirely on organizations vs. individuals. May orgs feel this makes our admin and security offering more trustworthy. We connect well with Google Docs, as well. Some orgs use Google Docs or other productivity programs then store, collaborate on, access and share their content via Box.
I just wanted to chime in and say that a few libraries have requested Box from TechSoup. It's a great tool for collaborating on programming as well as storing media from library events.
Ginny Mies is a Content Curator at TechSoup Global.
There are storage limitations on the total amount of data that you can store in your account. With the Starter account donation through Box.org, you'll have 100 GB of storage space on Box. If you decide to pay for anything more than a Starter account, you can store an unlimited amount of data on Box: https://www.box.com/pricing/
You can definitely store photos on Box which can be previewed right in the web application. You can certainly link or embed them on your websites.

yvonnemarie33, If you haven't already, recommend that you register your nonprofit at TechSoup.org. We just improved our registration process, so once you get registered, our contact center will be able to help you and address the registration issues you have.
As far as compatibility issues with your encryption program, if you have any follow up issues, feel free to share them in this thread or create a new thread in the "Database and Software" branch and we'll get you some help.

Nathan here from Box's Customer Success team! I've worked with a number of our nonprofit partners and even come from a nonprofit that has adopted Box as their content management tool. One of the biggest benefits of Box that I see is that it can serve as a central location for teams that are geographically dispersed. Box can help organize content shared amongst teams which are cities or oceans apart
