I am a lawyer with the Human Rights Project, an NPO that primarily helps refugees who have come to the United States. I am also the person at HRP who has to take care of most of the computer (and IT) problems.
It has been a while, and I don't clearly remember how or when I got involved with CompuMentor and TechSoup.
HRP actually does not get a lot of software or hardware from TS; several brands that would be helpful (Adobe, Cisco, et c.) are not available to us, WordPerfect is not available here at all, a few other applications (and MS Wiindows) do not need frequent updates, and I'm using FOSS as much as possible.
